Self-Guided Tour of the James M. Milne Library

Windowed study space with a view of the SUNY Oneonta campus in the fall.

Step-by-Step Tour of the Third Floor

  1. Both the main stair entrance and the elevator entrance to the third floor welcome you to a foyer which holds displays and the main entrance to the Alden Room, SUNY Oneonta's University Archives and Special Collections.
  2. Across from the Alden Room, you will see a fully windowed section of the third floor (as is pictured above), which holds many naturally lit study spaces with beautiful views of SUNY Oneonta's campus.
  3. To the left of this study space, you will find the Geography & Environmental Sustainability Department, the oversize collection, and an absolute silent study area of the library (room 326).
  4. Back to the right, past the elevator and stair entrance, you will find classroom 305, more study spaces, the third-floor printers, and stacks of books. The third floor stacks hold books from LC call numbers A-L.
  5. Past the stacks along the perimeter of the third floor, you will find additional study space, the map collection, faculty carrels, and various quiet bookable study rooms.
