Favorite Study Spaces

Pictured and described below are examples of the great study space options that you have available to you in the Milne Library, curated by your SUNY Oneonta Librarians. Enjoy these spaces and contact Megan Palmer to suggest other examples of great study spaces in the library that you would like to share with your fellow Red Dragons!

Also available within the Milne Library are seven bookable study rooms, both for individual and group use. These rooms hold power outlets, desks, whiteboards, and monitors, great for group work or a full study day. These spaces can be booked online using our online booking system

Quiet and Silent Library Study Spaces

This study space is located on the third floor of the Milne Library, holds both desks and lounge chairs to create a comfortable, naturally lit study area, with views of the beautiful SUNY Oneonta Campus.

This study pod, and others similar to it, are located on the third floor of the Milne Library. The pod is naturally lit, has a reading lamp, comfortable chair, foot rest, lap desk, and is semi-private. Perfect for a day of focused studying!

This study space is located on the second floor of the Milne Library, just off of the foyer which holds the stairs and elevator. This study space is for quiet study, where you can enjoy the views of the campus quad.

This is the microfilm room of the Milne Library, which is located in the sub-basement, a quiet conversation zone. This space is very quiet and if you are looking for a study space with no distractions, this may be the space for you.

Please note: There is no cell phone reception on this floor of the library.

This study space is located on the third floor of the Milne Library. To the left from the main stairs and elevator, right beside the Geography & Environmental Sustainability Department is the oversize collection, which is an absolute silent study space. If you are looking for a silent study space, with natural light, this may be the space for you!

Conversation-Friendly and Group Library Study Spaces

The first floor of the James M. Milne Library conversation friendly area with many different study space options.

This study area is located on the first floor of the Milne Library. This is a conversation-friendly zone, where students can find a comfortable place to study either individually or in a group. This space is just off of the Argo Tea Cafe, so grab a study snack and settle in for a day of studying with your friends!
