Open Access Publishing options

Remember - you do not have to pay any article processing charges (APCs) to make your peer-reviewed articles open.

SUNY authors can always opt to publish under the subscription model and self-archive their manuscript in accordance with the SUNY Oneonta Open Access Policy. This is known as the "Green Open Access" route, and is supported by the SUNY Open Access Repository (SOAR). See SUNY Oneonta SOAR Guide here

Open Access Publishing Discounts

Cambridge University Press Read-and-Publish Agreement

SUNY has made an agreement with Cambridge University Press to support Open Access publishing. If you are affiliated with a participating institution (including SUNY Oneonta), you can publish your article Open Access - at no cost to you - in select gold and hybrid journals. In addition, you can enjoy access to Cambridge University Press journals content.

Cambridge open access - Publish OA at no cost

Elsevier Open Access Discount

SUNY has negotiated discounts on the article processing charge (APC) for Open Access journals with Elsevier as part of its current (2020 - 2023) agreement. The discount is 10% off the APC for select Elsevier journals

Where an author chooses to publish OA, articles will be made freely available on ScienceDirect under the author’s choice between two reuse licenses: CC BY or CC BY-NC-ND.
