You can browse books on shelves. Use call numbers to browse books in Geography and Environmental Studies. (note: since geography covers a wide range of issues, you may find books in many different call numbers)

Due to the library renovation, the locations for books are constantly changing. Books are currently located on the sub-basement, and 2nd & 3rd floors of the library. If you have a difficulty locating books, feel free to ask any library staff.

How to read call numbers

Milne Library uses 'Library of Congress Classification (LCC)' to assign call numbers for books.

If the Call Number is G141 .B87 1993 (title: Historical geography : through the gates of space and time)

G141 describes the subject of the book. G141 is 'Historical geography'. Read the letter in alphabetical order and the number as a whole number

.B87 represents the author's last name. Read the letter alphabetically and the number as a decimal.

1993 represents the date of publication.
