Why I Walk

The library has put together a multifaceted event titled: Why I Walk. The purpose of the event is to encourage and promote walking as a form of sustainable transportation practice and as a form of mindfulness. The first part of the event began with the publication of a blog post by Librarian Jean-Paul Orgeron on walking.

The second part of the event involved a challenge. Participants from the library staff logged their steps from the morning of August 16th to the early afternoon of August 20th, 2021. In total, the participants logged over 227,000 steps, which equaled out to just under 80 miles! As part of the challenge, participants shared some pictures from their walking adventures during the week. These photos were shared in an instagram post!
