Hello! I'm Darren Chase, your Library Director. My motivation is to provide students and faculty with stimulating and substantive materials, resources, services and spaces to be creative and grow as scholars. The library is a unique learning environment. It’s a “third space” --distinct from the classroom and the home or dorm-- where students can make discoveries and practice self-directed scholarship. I see part of my responsibility as advocating for the value and benefits of the library experience. More than a building or a set of collections, the library is a dynamic system of content, people and space.
Whether on campus or online, the academic library should invite and nurture engaged inquiry.
