Search Tips

  • Use the asterisk to truncate and search for variations of a word, including plural forms.

Example:  immigra* searches for immigrant(s), immigrate, immigration

  • Use the question mark to represent more than one letter in a word, especially for words that do not form their plural form by adding “s” or “es.

Example:  wom?n searches for women and woman

  • Use quotation marks to search words as a phrase rather than as single words.

Limit results to those Held by Milne Library or Available Online, if appropriate.
