The ACT UP method is a technique for evaluating sources devised by Dawn Stahura. This method emerged from social justice movements such as the 1980s AIDS Coalition To Unleash Power (ACT UP) advocacy group. Stahura wanted to connect source evaluation with the realities of systematic oppression in our information environment.
The SIFT Method is one technique to make sure you are adequately evaluating sources for accuracy and truth. This technique works best with internet sources and news sources. The SIFT Method was developed by the information literacy expert, Mike Caulfield.
