A flyer with a background of a body of water with boats in it, stating the exhibition is in Milne Library on the 1st floor from 4/1/25 to 4/30/25 and a reception on 4/9/25 at 6pm. The name of the exhibition is When In Spain.

James M. Milne Library will be hosting the photography exhibition When In Spain, showcasing the works of two of SUNY Oneonta's seniors, Alec Hodge and Victoria Bodo. The wonderful photographs were taken during the study-abroad Documentary Photography course in May 2024 in Madrid, Spain.  The talented photographers used photography to witness and document the rapidly changing Spanish culture regarding cattle and beef production, sustainable food practices, global warming’s effects, and cultural celebrations. They also visited museums and the Royal Palace of Madrid, saw a flamenco show, enjoyed delicious tapas, paella, and gelato, visited a ranch, and witnessed firsthand what goes into the tradition of Spanish bullfighting, even getting to attend a live event.

This exhibition will be on the first floor of Milne Library, in the area by Accessibility Resources, and will run from April 1st to April 30th.  Stop by during that time to see the amazing work of these two photographers.  There will also be a reception on April 9th from 6p.m. to 7p.m.  Stop by to talk with Victoria and Alec and hear about their experience in Spain.

About the photographers:

Alec is a first-generation student studying communication studies and minoring in computer art. He is very involved on campus, serving as the President of the Student Association and representing the student body in many aspects of that role. Growing up, he was always looking for a creative outlet, and photography became that outlet once he took his first photography class here at SUNY Oneonta. Since then, his work has been selected for display in many galleries on and off campus in the upstate NY region. His style of photography ranges from street life to documentary photography.

Victoria is studying business economics with a concentration in marketing and a minor in computer art. A first-generation college student, she was born and raised in New York City. She is highly involved on campus, serving as the President of Management Club, a member of Tri Sigma, a tour guide, and having several photographs displayed in galleries on campus. Her plans after graduation are to travel and work for a marketing agency, combining her love for business, marketing, and photography.
