Banned Book Fair

Celebrate the Freedom to Read at the Banned Books Fair!
Join us on Wednesday, October 8, from 6:30–8:00 PM in the Great Room at CRJIE/Lee Hall for an evening dedicated to the power of books and the freedom to read.

Inspired by elementary school book fairs, this event will showcase a wide selection of books that have been banned or challenged. Students, employees, and community members are invited to browse the display, learn more about the stories behind these books, and even take one home.

Banned Book Karaoke:
Want to get involved? Bring your favorite banned book and read a short passage (up to one minute) aloud during our Banned Book Karaoke session! The first five participants will receive a free book.

Curious about which books have been banned? The American Library Association maintains a list online.

Presented by Milne Library, Center for Racial Justice and Inclusive Excellence and Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (Office of Equity and Inclusion), and Provost’s Office
