Transcripts of Tamriel: Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) Roleplay (RP) Database

Milne Library Digital Humanities Internship

Applications are being accepted for the Spring 2026 semester!

The Milne Library Digital Humanities Internship is a competitive internship developed in 2024 and provides two currently enrolled State University of New York (SUNY) students with up to three academic credits and hands-on experience in conducting large-scale research in digital media and game studies. Transcripts of Tamriel: Elder Scrolls Online Roleplay Database is an on-going digital project that archives and organizes 1,100+ transcripts from live, collaboratively written, roleplay sessions from 2018-2023 within the MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online.

Work on the database includes, but is not limited to: editing transcripts for typographic errors while preserving authorship, building taxonomies, applying metadata to transcripts and other data, using markdown language to build features in the database and analyze data, and developing research skills in academic databases.  Interns will receive training and support from the Emerging Technologies Librarian at SUNY Oneonta, who will serve as the site supervisor.  This is a remote position. While the internship is unpaid by the library, funding may be available through SUNY.

For detailed information on the project, please visit the database project website.
