Search Tips

Select keywords to search for books about your topic.

  • Use the asterisk to truncate and search for variations of a word, including plural forms.

Example:  environment* searches for environment(s), environmental(ism/ist/s)

  • Use the question mark to represent more than one letter in a word, especially for words that do not form their plural form by adding “s” or “es.”

Example:  wom?n searches for women and woman

  • Use quotation marks to search words as a phrase rather than as single words.

Example:  “Global South”

Limit results to those Held by Milne Library or Available Online, if appropriate.

**Virtual Browse (at the bottom of selected records for print books) gives information about books on the shelf near the selected book title.

**Note the Permalink icon on the detailed record for the book, if needed.
